CREATIVE RETREAT promo video - from the beginnings to the finishing point of your dreams!

I wanted to capture a visual of how I feel about the creative processes we go through.  Our biggest dreams start with the smallest tasks.

To sign up :  RETREAT REGISTRATION  -
July 18-20th.  Only 7 slots open, 5 left.

Part of the backstory of this concept goes way back into childhood...when I used to draw and doodle....when I had a season of painting....a season of moving into photography...and other creative things I've witnessed in my short life time. :)

I used Carrie as my muse & model because as much as I've seen myself blossom...I've seen her blossom just as much.  Towards the end, those are part of her blossoming.  Writing and creative dance expression is something she has embraced.  My desires are to see YOU blossom into the creative being you are meant to be and LIVING the dreams/realities you are supposed to live. :)

Enjoy the video!
Please pass to a friend that NEEDS this....I love connecting !

All the best to you today,
Jen

Creative Idea for your wedding - What to DO with your wedding dress "train".

I've captured quite a few weddings....and i'm THRILLED when things happen at each event that adds fun, laughter and additional stories to tell AFTER the event is over!!!!  AHHHAHAHA!!!! This is so great.

So, first of all - I have to say many thanks to Don & Ashley for bringing me out to capture their wedding! It was short, sweet, amazing and pretty warm outside. :)  It being "springing" into summer....we know how full suits and gowns can get stifling hot.  So THANK YOU for letting me capture you guys despite the heat!!!!

We had a lovely lovely time creating...and this wedding was pretty short with just a handful of events going on.  Once the night was towards the ending...people were starting to say goodbye...I happened upon one of the kiddos SITTING on the back of the bride's wedding dress.

This idea? turned into one of the BEST games i've ever seen!  Each kiddo wants a "ride" on the bride's train...and i could hear the chugga-chugga-chugga wooot wooot!  I was mesmerized how well this idea turned into a great time you don't normally see at a wedding!  Especially ON the wedding dress!!!!

So, without further delay....

I give you the WEDDING TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put them in order of how it all played out....started with one brilliant idea....that catapulted into the other two kiddos wanting to also ride the train. :)  The last 2 pictures i swear to you...she was dragging them and they were all holding onto each other to ride it all at once.  It was hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, and also...............we have a couple of great teaser images from our handfuls of moments at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens....<3

Much Love!

Congrats you two!!!!! EEEEEK!!!!!!
I will write more about this image later...this was one of the most challenging *dreams* I had to make happen....

Wedding: The Antique Rose Emporium - full of love, laughter and LOTS of flowers.

I can't begin to GLEEEEEE about how much fun we had at Matt + Jessica's wedding!  They let me take them into an amazing field of yellow flowers...which were one of their wedding colors anyways....when you see Jessica - she is laughing for MOST of her pictures which only made ME giggle even more as her photographer.  I met these two through another wedding in the past you might have remembered.

Ian & Amanda.    (featured on Offbeat Bride and Unique Bride Magazine)

I knew I just HAD to shoot their wedding...so we made it all happen!  The glorious venue was setup just for perfect days like an overcast day with gorgeous blooms and some lucious greens.  We had threats of rain all day - but the rain did not come until that evening when the entire thing was almost over. YAY :)

I wanted to share more teasers from their day...and talk about how much I appreciated their time with me and our adventure!!!!

Location: Antique Rose Emporium

I wanted to highlight the awesome yellow flowers in some closeups for them....so I made them almost sit right down in the field :) heheh!!! GORGEOUS turnout!!! So cute!!!!

I found this "tunnel" path as I was walking around the grounds.  I was inspired by the leading lines here as well as the greens and vines that tied right into their garden themes.

I was giggling as I found myself asking..."what do we do in the middle of a field?"...we did portraits, we did dancing...and lots of laughter here.  Just a huge huge rolling field of yellow flowers.  And we didn't get kicked out! :) This was so fun!
Huge thanks to Ian & Amanda for introducing me to these two.  Huge thanks to everyone at the wedding for helping us with their smiles, dancing and poses for pictures for the bride & groom.  We had a blast and should you need us - please let us know!!! <3

The many snippets of the ceremony! Gorgeous day!
The various location requests from the couple!  We were all in love with the grounds!!!!

Good times, Good memories.

There's no easy way out.....There's no short cut home....

I spent the weekend with a long-time friend of mine 2nd shooting a wedding.
On our way home - in all silliness we started talking about movies and inspirational music that went along with some of the cheese of the 1980's.  Now, all kidding aside-  some of those moments did have an impact....lol!!!  But upon further depth you realize there in many many cases a struggle of fighting for yourself, fighting for others and being who you are.

Being who you are, doesn't come easy and it does involve FIGHTING!

The title of this blog is from the song we were playing on the phone during Rocky IV.  Rocky is going through everything in his mind of everything that happened from the moment he became a fighter/boxer up until that moment that his friend was killed.  It shows a good comtemplation of everything that brought him to that place of a decision to FIGHT for what was right.  In the movie - you see towards the end of that moment....he sees his friend falling and sees himself falling.  It is with great respect where I can say - I feel that pain! :)

It is in that darkness and in that decision making that we press forward to be ourselves and keep the passion a-flame to do this mission we have been put here to do.  For him, it was going up against a seemingably unbeatable foe and sending himself through training to confront that foe.  How is this NOT like our fights in every day life?  We fight for our time, visions, dreams, friends, relationships......love

I wanted to move forward today inspired....and I pulled up images from March (right before After Dark)...and pull out a couple of images that spoke to the distorted darkness that we can all deal with.  We feel our reflection is contrasted against the dark and light...and the boundaries we have set upon us does NOT free us - it simply keeps us in a place sometimes of bondage. Your reflection matters in how you see yourself.  You cannot be FREE to create if you have a distorted view of yourself or how you have perceived yourself.  Put on a new pair of glasses to correct the distortion...see yourself for the beauty within...and that darkness....is contrasted with LIGHT.  Make a point to see the LIGHT in your image - not just the darkness.

There is no EASY way out.....(letting yourself go, letting yourself BE - it is worth the FIGHT)
There's no short cut home....(the journey you must walk)

Peace out.

Some fun-tastic images from the wedding featured on TLC : "Say Yes to the Cure" - aired in October 2013.

There are so many words to describe their relationship - but most of all - their love is contagious.  If you watched the episode spinoff from "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta"...."SAY YES TO THE CURE".....to see Lori's struggle in the special episode on her PLUS a catch-up on Delese and her fight with cancer.

I took this opportunity with every bit of heart that I would take any other job.  A woman who has battled forms of cancer for most of her adult life and had a simple dream.....

.....to celebrate with her entire family there and have her kids and grandkids be a part of this ceremony.  After weeks of prep - we made it all happen - and she brought me in to to do the photography.  I'm overall super happy I got to share in this story.  I believe in DIVINE appointments and nowhere in this place did i "deserve" it, but God presented it to me and I took it.  SHE was a divine appointment and THIS was a divine appointment to receive.  Let's run with 2014 despite ALL fears. <3

I hope you enjoy them as much as me <3
Here are some of the still images I was able to capture amidst the party and celebration.

One of Delese's biggest dreams was for all her family to participate and be a part of this wedding day.  And, it was so!

Feature in Cloud Orchid Magazine, Fall 2013 - "Evolution" series.

FIRST:  I am thankful to have met the crew of Cloud Orchid last year when they were starting out on this adventure.  I have an appreciation for folks that dive into their arts and ALSO appreciate and celebrate the arts and fashion of others.  I have been featured several times and this time is no different!

Thank you Cloud Orchid for believing in me and publishing me!

SECOND:  The model Jane Love has been an exceptional artist in my life.  Since our meetings in the last year we have done nothing but have lots of fun and make great art.  I like when people work hard and it SHOWS in how professional they are in making the craft.  Her experience shows and the ability to be a kind of chameleon is such an artist dream.  I'm proud to share the magazine spread with her! THIS ROCKS!!!!

THIRD:  To After Dark Education - the EVENT that started it all.  I have met some pretty awesome people since going for the first time in 2012 and have never regretted a single moment of my path since then.  Without THAT experience I would not come this far into my journey, my adventure and my art.

Thank you ALL!

Much Love to you,  Pink Light Images
You inspire me.
You are dream makers.

This series was inspired by the opening film-atic scene of RESIDENT EVIL: Afterlife

Here is what inspired it all - a few moments of opening scene gave me inspiration for fun, transformation and fashion.

Herez the new beginnings of new ideas!

I have been messing around with a lot of ideas lately....and in bringing together all the things i've ever done artiscally - I figured today was a great day to get some play-time.  I had a list of errands to run today...only to find out that it was Veteran's day.  I figured - today is a day like no other to dedicate to a few moments of creative time before I begin some of my day chores.  So I'm taking some pieces of drawings that I've done over the years...and playing with my photography concepts.  I've always wanted to do this - just hadn't sat down and done it.

Herez to many more!
This is only a beginning....

Lovely wedding out near Quinlan TX!!!! - Outdoor turned barn...ending with a MOON. :)

This was a sooooooooooooo unique wedding - not only because of the location - but cause of the RAGING STORM OUTSIDE!!!!!  We had a torrential downpour the day of that forced the ceremony into the barn instead of outside in the nature!  I remember when we drove down the driveway - we kept thinking maybe it would go away?  It did not! Everything was moved indoors - and we ended up in the barn with both reception and ceremony in the same place. :)

When we got there early to do a bit of scouting we could SEE the rain coming down the driveway before it hit that area I was standing.  I had never done that before - actually WATCHED the rain move towards us. ;0  We had a blast trying to work in between the main house and the barn to get as many pictures done as possible!

One of the other unique things I thought were so great was the hourglass ceremony.  It reminded me of the unity sand or unity candle - but in an hourglass.  There was a topper and everything!

The colors, the decor were gorgeous...and the weather? It stopped raining but it felt amazing temp wise!!!  By the time nite came, I requested a few moments from the couple and we were able to explore some night images that I was just EAGER to capture!!! The moon clouds were AMAZING!!!!  You can see the variety of outdoor nite images I was able to play with.  I typically work with MINIMAL equipment - so what you see is what you get and I had a lot of lighting to play with at this venue!

The night ended with the tossing of black eyed peas and the final moments of dancing and fun.  We had a blast with this family and hope they enjoy their pictures for years and years to come!!! Thank you!
