Customized Artwork - Wedding clients!

I am so fortunate to meet many amazing people while capturing weddings.  Todd and Michelle were no exception!  They had a very unique wedding and also had a very unique art request!  They are both particular about what they like - and it was so great to actually get a chance to create for them and what they wanted.  I took several wedding images of rings, a flower and their chocolate heart candies to create this masterpiece for them!

The final result was a stunning 60x40 canvas ready to hang on their wall.

Attached is the image of my happy customer!

Thank you SO MUCH for letting me create for you!

"take it moment by moment"

When creating artistic images....I like having a huge mix of crazee fantasy with weird things...but I also love the simplicity of trying to create a story of a model, a setting and a feeling.  Monochromatic images simply take you to another place.  Where everything is a shade of white, black or grey.

The following image really spoke to me today.
She is almost floating on the sidewalk a bit.
She has a creepy dark feeling but oddly I like her.
It was raining at the time of this shoot - so I cant tell if that is hair or a rain splatter in the motion of the image.  lol

I hope you enjoy...what story do you get out of it?

Embracing new ideas!

I have set myself on a journey to self-discovery and ideas when I have moments to music!  Well, let me be more specific....moments to SOUNDS.

Some create to music - I get that!  I do that sometimes too!
But to have a specific SOUND that you focus on I've noticed that your mind can paint some unique and specific ideas that take you to many new places.

I find myself encouraging with new words.

I find myself drawing things I wouldn't normally draw.

I'm starting to really enjoy this new habit I'm forming!!!! For 21 days straight, I am listening to a sound and then doing a free flow during and after til I feel the page is full.  Because I kinda sorta skipped yesterday - I did TWO today. Both very different sounds and very different ideas.  I split them between morning and evening.

I can't wait to share what happens next with this.  I would like to make the photographic images next and work through those as art pieces.  I've had a deep thoughtful goal of doing a cohesive gallery show.  My only hurdle has been...I AM VERY SCATTERED and not focused.

And now...I feel this focus could turn into a 21 piece exhibition :)

Herez to 2015!  Let's do this!

Love Jen

P.S. I think I've decided to wear this amazing hair piece from Becca Jett to the bridal show. :):):):)
It is SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday Thinking: "Access your heart"

I can't help but sometimes FEEL overwhelmed when it comes to digging out the treasures in my heart!  I sat down today to start thinking about the future.  You know the not-so-distant future of 2015 and beyond.

I was stuck for a few moments.

When we get so busy and forget to slow down, we might also miss dreams inside that needed to be found.  We may already be LIVING a lot of our dreams - but I've also found that some dreams are within dreams to an even BIGGER dream.  (geez, Inception much?) heheeh!!!!

Yea you feel that?

OVERWHELMED!!!!!

But, take heart dear ones - this feeling only lasts a short while because then you get back on track breaking down your dreams/goals into pieces that you can walk out bit by bit.  We weren't made to FLY necessarily - we were given FEET to walk to our destination.

Hey, that doesn't mean I don't WANT wings - but let us stay on the ground for a few moments...to tread lightly and keep moving forward.  Open your eyes and mind to the light that surrounds you and your path.  Let peace and love rule.

Before you know it - you have opened up a huge ball of energy and it changes your life forever.

THURSDAY THINKING:
-what dream has been buried that you need to DIG out?
-where does YOUR energy come from?
-what drives YOU?
-write down at least ONE GOAL today and set yourself to complete it in the next 3 months!

Monday Madness: "Longing"

I titled these things "Monday madness" because sometimes I am thinking of random things all weekend or all day long.  This is where I stop and enter into the madness.

In dictionary.com - "madness" has a 4th meaning.

intense excitement or enthusiasm.

I have a hard time really communicating my heart out into the world, but yet somehow it does get out there.  If you don't see it in words then you see it in pictures.  My viewpoint is my own.  My eyes are my own and my madness is my own!!!!

I am reflecting this morning about my short time in Maine.  I look at the images and how blue and crisp the waters were and I want to be there again.  I want to be there longer than 2 hours.  I want to sit on the rocks and absorb the surroundings to the fullest.

I realize that even if I planned a trip up again - it would not be the same as before - but would be another UNIQUE experience to life and love.  Embracing all of who I am NOW and all of who I am in the future.  Realizing that every day dreams that are seeds have to take root, then BURST into the light for all to see.

Enjoy a few beautiful moments from Maine.

I had never been to this state before.
Now I feel myself being drawn back - if only for the water's edge.

Thank you for enjoying and reaching for inspiration every day!!!!

Monday Madness:
-what right now are you INTENSELY excited about?
-share an image with your friends and family about something you experience in 2014 that ignited your passions
-write a paragraph about how you felt in THIS moment.

Tuesday TipTricks! "Bathmat Beauty!!!"

In today's blog I'm going to share a tip or trick that I've used in the past either in creations or designing things!!!  I ideally would LOVE to keep things simple, but I have also found in life when striving for difference I make things HARDER! ahahah!!!! But all in all - I will share things that have inspired me or pushed me to be creative in new ways!!!

So, here is your tuesday trick or tip! <3
Maybe you have already used this tip or trick...show me????!!! How would you use it for yourself???

Ok! So tip & trick #1!!!!!!!!! HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I traveled to St Louis I brought a prop that I had used several times already.  I think what is important is that when you have an idea...sometimes you have to let it play out and TRY a few times before you might be satisfied with the final product.

This prop came from my lovely friend Becky who stopped and grabbed it because it stood out to her and inspired her.  When she brought it to my house....I AGREED!!!!!  This prop, is a BATHMAT. :)  A plastic, flexible, see-through, "rock like" BATH MAT!

I tried several different ways to use this during this particular shoot.  I was pretty determined to make something out of it and be completely different than the last shoot.

Before, having help from Melodie & Lisa - they helped hold up the bathmat - as the light is hitting it! (raw image)
I did face touch-ups and added another quick small layer of bathmat to cover the other things.
Model: Mikaela Carson
This right now, is me trying things out.  I basically wanted to cover her face completely and see how i felt about it.  You know? Sometimes you see something in your mind and it doesn't play out as much OR maybe it does.
Model: Mikaela Carson

Model: Marsha Denlinger - "the bathmat corset" - I did really really love how the bathmat made a great corset - I just still have a lot of art to make from that session!  It was unique, different and gave me great new ideas!

The mat took on a lighting that I had not seen before...it almost glowed blue-ish purple.  Super fun!!!!!

Take a wild prop that you are inspired by....and make something AMAZING!!!!!!

Show the world, tell the world, and inspire others!!!!!

Signing off for your Tuesday TipTrick....

Love Jen

She wanders the path....in darkness and light.

She wanders the path in darkness in light.  Her soft presence calms even the most disturbed creature of the night.  Her walk is swift and soft and her voice carries throughout the trees.  The path is set before her with lamps placed strategically so that each step finds some illumination.  Her laughter makes the frogs cry.  Her tears make raindrops and dew on the blades of grass.  Moving forward is her only option.  Embracing the uniform of her spirit and heart she glides towards the curve.  The mystery that awaits her gives a sense of anxiousness and peace all in one.  Finding moments like these are irreplaceable.

This is a teaser story image from my time in Pennsylvania.  I really can't explain how I felt about this trip and the adventures that we took.  I found the most amazing spot that NO ONE had ever heard of!  I was so happy to find this.  I could have created here for days.  I now have to go back.

Thanks Marsha and Thanks Diane.
You are truly artists.

and dream makers.

Do you find yourself losing time to dream?  Has life choked out your creativity?  Are you BORED with being BORED???????????????

Another DREAM realized!!!!!

I have been making art for years and years and years...probably dating all the way back to Kindergarten when my teacher said i was "very creative, but messy".  I do love the creative process. It can get really messy really fast and ideas can either come quickly or sometimes you have to SEARCH for them.

For years, I wanted to put my images on shirts.  Maybe it is that inner-fashionista but I like the idea of wearable art.  When I signed up on See.Me to get my artwork out into the world I had never opted to try their t-shirt art until now!   I ordered it a couple of weeks ago and it came today.  I had almost forgotten I ordered it!  I knew it would look really great and professional because it is not silk-screened or an iron-on like I've done in the past .:)  It looks like i'm literally wearing the art I made. ahhh!!!!!!!

So the backstory on this image can be seen HERE.

But the meaning of it all was so special today...because I'm centering around PEACE and letting everything else fall to the wayside.  This week is about embracing the creativity I find in peace and not chaos.  I will find it however I can...but this week I'm pretty chill!!!

Check it out!

You can choose from any art pieces I have online to make one for yourself.  I think I will be adding more images just for the sole purpose of ordering some wearable art!!! <3

ENJOY!

Blue Man Boston *drum art* :)

So! as you may or may not have seen or known....I went to Boston this past weekend and a part of my journey included a trip over to the Charles Playhouse to see Blue Man Group.  I had seen most of the venues (w/ the exception of international) but never had seen or been to Boston.

As part of my job fee my clients included a ticket to see the show and I was happy to oblige when they set me up for the poncho seats! :)  I was overly-joyed also knowing that a Blue Man whom i've known and seen perform for MANY years was going to be there as well!  I had been joking that I really didn't know a single soul in Boston! :)  You can see some of my pre-show pictures here....

BUT FIRST - you can also hear part of my story on the VIDEO!!!!

I really enjoy the fun and colorful installations they have going yet also giving us that "vintage" blue man vibe w/ the tubes and other hynotic lobby music.  I REALLY wanted that lobby music!!! It was so peaceful and tranquil.  Most things in the show went just great....as per usual!  The drum art they made was super super fun and of course splashed with great awesomeness and passion!  As they went into the next skit to make the spin art and marshmallow art - I had forgotten they gave away the DRUM ART!  So on the left you have someone getting the spin....in the middle someone gets the drum art...and on the right OF COURSE someone gets to take home the marshmallow sculpture in their purse! hah!!!

I had already eyeballed the blueman pre-giveaway and was overjoyed when he gave it to me. I'm not going to say no...nor am i shy about asking! HAHAHAAHAHA

As I got the art, i realized it was SOPPING WET!!!! Over the next hour, it would seep and sop all over me and my fellow watchers...and i giggled a lot!!!  I double wrapped it in 2 ponchos as I left so that it would drip inside and not get on me as much. :)  I didn't get it signed because it was sooooo wet and I didn't feel like unwrapping it. WOOPS!

I had SUCH and amazing time...and so THANKFUL for this opportunity! I truly believe I have some of the best clients in the world!!!  So thank you to my Boston clients, their friends and whomever else I met while up there.  It was such a great time.  Thanks for welcoming me in!!!!

Here is me trying to "dry it out" and pack it.  Yea. TOO BIG!
And here is my video of the Boston Lobby trinkets...LOTS of fun things!!!!!!!

Creating homework: A way to push yourself BEYOND your limits.

I don't know about all yall other creatives....
but sometimes you get "in the zone" creating for a lot of other people and you tend to let YOUR creations fall to the curb and be forgotten.

This year is a year of REMEMBERING!

Let's pick back up our ideas and visions...and ASSIGN OURSELVES HOMEWORK!!!!

I cannot say that I create every day - but every day IS an opportunity to create.

Today, I'm about to launch into a project that is hands-on and creating a prop for a future shoot.  But I also thought - WHAT CAN I DO TODAY in creation mode in the photography world???

I am re-visiting my Creative Live images again.  You know, the kind that keep calling you back...saying "come plaaaay with meeee" :)  Well, i stopped in through a journey of ideas into the image of Jane Love on the floor in the old abandoned seminary.

I wanted to play with some feathers that I've had for a while and make an interesting piece that says something else besides what I would consider normal.

I've been striving to push myself since Brooke's classes - and see what visions I can create what dream worlds can be concieved.  So far, I'm just playing - I'm learning - I'm growing.  Time management can be a mind suck when it comes to being an artist as I've just spent 2 hours distracted.  But out of this quick distraction I found some fun, ideas and future dreams.

Join me in welcoming another image into the family.................

and then, GO CREATE YOURSELF some homework!!! <3
show it...see it....think about it....write about it!

here is mine

Free flow writing.....

What a troubled and oppressed lady this is.  She is surrounded by clouds of dark and light and she struggles to find flight.  It seems as though she has fallen asleep and taken notice that someone is watching her.  What is she thinking? What will she do next?

heading to CREATIVE LIVE.

I took advantage of an opportunity to go to WARP SPEED with myself as an artist, biz owner and purposeful passion. :)  I'm going to creative live to be a student in Brooke Shaden's course...."Master your Craft".............she has UNDOUBTEDLY been a huge influence in how i've been able to dream bigger than ever before...and i mean EVER.  I have been able to bloom so much more with the introduction of new people into my life...and letting go of past fears and limitations.  IT is time to reach forward.

I'm pretty sure the concepts, thoughts, ideas, dreams, visions and details that come out of this experience will be mind-blowing.  That, and most likely i'll be on the camera at some point during the session.  We will see!  I can't wait to see Brooke do what she does best. :)  I will never never never forget this...and I aim to go higher than the sky. :)
